Bennett has been saving his money for a new guitar.  According to the expert, he needs one with a shorter neck.  The research we did concluded that a new instrument could run up to $250. (whoa!)  The Boy kept on saving, and we decided to make a deal. If he did REAL practicing, didn't get all bucky when it was time to practice, and worked hard, we would split the cost.

Bennett has been putting in the effort - and it shows. He is making huge improvements during his lessons, and not displaying negative behaviors when it's time to practice.  We are so proud of him - we decided to let Bennett save his cash, and purchase the guitar for him.

He was so excited when we gave it to him, and couldn't wait to bust out a little "Ode to Joy".  But first, he tried to give me all his money.  "Here.  You take it.  Just take it.  Please.".  I refused, and told him that he should spend it on something else, or save it.  It's his money, and the guitar was a gift.

What I didn't tell him was the the guitar was FIFTEEN DOLLARS!!!!  Say what???!!!  DEAL OF THE CENTURY!  And, approved by Mr. Meaner.  SA-weet.
