Harper has been obsessed with glasses lately, and recently started telling me that she can not see the board in school.  Honestly, I didn't 100% believe her - and kind of thought she just wanted some fun glasses.  After a few weeks, and some very (un)professional at home eye tests, I finally made some appointments.

Bennett and I gave Harper a summary of what to expect, and even with the details, she was a bit nervous.  But, she spoke up for herself and answered all the "Is it better with #1?  Or #2?" questions.

After the examinations were complete, it was determined that both Prose children require spectacles for clear vision.  Now the fun part - the glasses selection!!  Bennett Prose spent about 14 seconds selecting his frames - a pair of black RayBans that just happen to be the exact same frame from last year, and the year before, and the year before.
Harps, on the other hand, tried on about 37 different pairs before settling on a black rimmed pair, and a wire rimmed pair (to be picked up at a later date).
My apologies, sweet girl.  I will listen to you next time you say you can't see the board. 💓

Late late last night, at approximately 7:15pm, the doorbell rang.  Bennett looked at me, I looked at Andy, and Andy looked at the both of us.  (No one looked at Harper, because she obviously was in bed.)  Who on earth was ringing the bell so late??  I said "I'm not getting that - I have my PJs on."  B said, "I'm not getting that - I'm just a kid." and AP heaved the kitties off his lap, slipped on his slippers and headed to the door - already telling who ever it was to go away, because we don't want any.
Was it a salesperson? Nope.
Was it a student fundraiser? Nope.
Was it a robber? Nope.

Guess who??  It was Lucy!!!  And, Lucy had a bag full of Dairy Queen treats for the Prose Family!
Dilly Dilly - best neighbors ever.  You can ring our bell anytime!

Potentially, the final adventure for the fishhouse 2020.  AP came home with a full bucket full of fish, and a cooler full of emptiness.   (Now, to get that house out of my driveway...)

This summer, I joined KPower Yoga studio.   It is a super lovely, super steamy studio and I've been practicing my poses.  I must say, I'm getting really good at Shavasana.  Recently, they had a family class, and I asked Harper if she wanted to go.  She responded quickly, with a "Yes!  We need new outfits!"  I was in complete agreement, so I picked up some matching KPower tanks.  We grabbed our mats, water bottles and towels.

When we left, Harper said, "Mom.  I get why you go.  I feel SO GOOD!"
Namaste, June Bug.  Namaste.

I might just be the best math teacher in the history of math teachers.

The boys have a tradition of fishing in the Ducks Unlimited fishing tournament.  Each year, they leave with confidence and certainty that they will be coming home with a prize.  But, not just any prize, the BIG prize.   And, each year they come home with nothing but rosy cheeks and empty coolers.

This year began the same, with boastful comments about driving home in a new pick up truck, pulling a new Ice Castle.  The first update arrived an hour into the tournament, "We are on the board!!  .3 oz perch!"  Three hours later, the Prose fish was still on the board.  And while they didn't drive home in a new truck, they did have a new cooler in the back!  Pretty sweet prize for a teeny tiny perch, in 47th place.

Just a few pics of the (not so recent) updates of the Great Kitchen Renovation.  Doug delivered the table, and it is nothing short of beautiful.  The black ash wood, and thick metal legs provide space for homework, Monolopy and making forts.
The endless island is ample space for baking and mess making meal prepping.

And, thanks to another great idea by T, the broom closet was refurbished into a mini-office.  A much more productive use of space.

And, quite possibly my favorite  -  the artwork.  We have been searching and searching for the best pieces to hang over the couch.  When I found these, I showed Andy, and he just smiled.  "Yep.  Order them.", he said.  We knew they were perfect, with just a hint of whimsy.

When you are in your 40s, and your birthday is on a Tuesday, it's probably not going to be that exciting.  Unless you are an elementary school teacher.  When you are in elementary school, your birthday is a really big deal - regardless of your age.  And, today was pretty much the perfect birthday.  It started with my favorite 3rd graders, and being serenaded by various classes all. day. long.  I was showered in special gifts, including candy, flowers, and countless pieces of artwork.

After school, I got to attend a yoga class with my favorite instructor, and came home to a table of gifts that I was not really supposed to receive.
Not that I wasn't going to get birthday presents.  Everyone deserves presents on their birthday - but the plan was to buy me a dishwasher for my birthday!  Lucky me, in addition to a dishwasher, I also scored a new blow dryer, some fuzzy socks, and bath salts!
Just when I thought it couldn't get any more perfect, dinner was served.  More of my favorites - Pho!
And, the cherry on top, was my final serenade of the day, and cheesecake.
I'm so lucky to be loved so much (and probably should have taken another picture...).

I love my job, and I love my students - but some days...  The struggle is real.

Introducing Ronnie the Ginger (named after Ron Weasley⚡️) and Tucker the Tabby (named after Tucker 🏔). We love them so much, and thank the Morrison County Animal Humane Society for taking such good care until we could arrive! Everyone is settling in, even AP. 😊❤️🐱

We have been waiting and waiting for this day to arrive.  It has taken almost a year of convincing, and weeks of waiting for the perfect time, but it's here.  Kitty Day!!!  We knew we wanted 2 kitties, and we knew we wanted to bring them home TODAY.   So, first we went to the Saint Cloud Kitty Corner, but the 2 kitties they had were sick.  Then, we went to the SC Humane Society, and their available kitties were "not very social".  Feeling down, we opted to drive to Little Falls and check out the Morrison Co Humane Society.  Here we were introduced to a grey tabby and an orange short hair.  There was no discussion to be had, we had found our kitties.
