 AWWWWW, yeah!  Today's the day!  And, like a well oiled machine - the whole process took about 17 minutes - and 15 of those minutes was the mandatory wait time after the injection.  

 I asked for a recess coat for Christmas, and Mom and Dad did not disappoint!  This coat has a giant hood, hits below the knee and is incredibly warm.  Think it's gonna be an issue I can't really see the kids? 😂

It's official - all members of our staff who wish to receive a vaccine have appointments in the next week.  Our building feels a whole lot lighter.

Courtesy of yesterday's epic bloody nose of 2021, today we sent the boys out solo.  Harper and I did meet them for lunch and a quick planning session for the afternoon runs.  I'd say it was a success.  Thank you, Copper.  But, next year can our friends come back?

 

 

We ski from 8:30-noon.  Then, we meet up for an outdoor lunch.  We ski from 12:30pm-3pm.  Then, we head home for a snack.  We hop on the bus and stroll around the shops, and then hop back on the bus to head home.  We have dinner, and promise to stay up late.  We don't.  Wake and repeat.

 

Wide Open Spaces is just what this family needed - but the brand new ski gear isn't too bad, either. (Thanks Grammy and Grampy!)

 

The Universe once again collied beautifully today.   For at the exact moment we crossed the boarder into CO, and I gave the celebratory HONK HONK HONK, Kamala Harris was sworn in as the Vice President of the United States of America.

 

 Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow.  You're only a day away.

 I resolve to stop uttering his name, but before I do - I'm just going to leave this right here.

This evening, Bennett prepared a delicious meal for us - and while the pictures does not do it justice, I encourage you to try a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich.  You won't regret it.

The above is a top secret recipe.   I probably could get in trouble for sharing it on the inter-web - however I know that the readers of this blog are trustworthy, loyal, and not great in numbers.  Thus, for the sake of documentation for future generations I will leave it right here.  You are welcome. Teachers have been moved up on the vaccine hierarchy and today I was able to make my formal request.  Still no official time line, but it's one step closer.

Wednesday, January 13 - the day we all got to go back to school!  While there was some hesitation, Bennett's style was on point with his peacoat, Doc Martins and 100% Human mask.  It was a good day.

 Never thought I would say it - but I love recess duty.  The past few weeks, the hoar frost has been beautiful.  (Yes, that is the correct term.  Google it.). 

Second first day of school of the year.  We were nervous, we were anxious, we didn't sleep well.  But, as soon as students entered those doors, it all went back to normal. (As normal as teaching during a pandemic can be...) We all know that kids and teachers do their best work in building - and we want to stay here.  So, please my dearest community - please continue to follow the recommended health guidelines - or we are just going to have to send your kids back home.  And, no one wants that.

On Sundays, we sauna.

 

Every morning, these fools partake in shenanigans, rousing me out of my slumber, and forcing me out of bed.  As soon as I open the bathroom door - they assume their positions.

 

First it was 44>45.

Then, it became 8645.

Now, it's 25 for 45.

 

 Don't move, kid.

And, right before our very eyes, this sweet little nut turned five.  Happy happy birthday, Hazey Daisy.
 

 Mommy.  Do I like to hug you so much, because you hugged me so much when I was a baby?  I could hug you alllllll daaaayyyyyy.  I love you sooooooooo muuucccchhhh.

Oh, sweet, Harps.  I love you sooooooo muuucchhhhh, too.💗
