The fever came and went and came again.  There were a few days of school missed and loads of laundry disinfected - but we all were healthy just in time for All Hallows Eve.  Bennett dressed as a Space Force recruiter, complete with a clipboard and a speech persuading people to join the "hugest, biggest, most strongest, total real force of the military".  Harper opted for a police officer, because just like Lewis, girls can be police, too.

The usual suspects starting arriving just after the Prose Photo Shoot including: Mollie and Orrin and Ricky and Boo and Jace and Kylee and Tom and Paige and Lucy and Dana and Niki and Shaun

We hoofed around Morningstar, making sure to stop at the houses handing out full sized candy bars - and planned our route so the Space Force Recruiter could make his 7:45pm bedtime.  This whole Halloween on a school night is stressful (hence no picture of the boy).

Pumpkin Carving Extravaganza 2018

Saturday, October 27, 2018

Per October tradition, we headed east to Papa's Pumpkin Patch in search of the greatest pumpkins for the Prose Family carving, which would take place later this weekend.  We searched and searched the vast expanse of the pumpkin patch, dodgin chickens and pigs.  Grandma and Harper foraged so far, we almost lost them!  But, thanks to their adventurous spirits, we found the biggest and the best pumpkins.  We were rewarded with sloppy joes - apparently, Harper's new favorite as she ate an entire sandwich, and requested that to be her meal choice for the upcoming week - and strawberry shortcake with fresh berries and Grandma's legendary whipped cream.

Such a great day with Papa and Grandma, the Ninja and the Gnome had to rest on the way home.

Are you yeti for a sneak peek??

Sunday, October 21, 2018

Oh - there's more!  In addition to the photos, we also found time craft, watch funny kids on YouTube, hike around Maplewood State Park, play some tetherball, and swing in the hammock.

And go yeti hunting, make and post some flyers at the local businesses, have a prepping photo shoot with a weird doll and practice our driving skills around the gravel loop.  ("Bennett, I'm comfortable at this speed, if you just move to the center.")  We took out the dock and make pumpkin family. We played cards, used our inside voices inside, and made plans for future adventures.

Thanks Doug and Jane for the best bed and breakfast around!!
