Halloween 2023. The high of 33* may have been a factor, Bennett worked concessions at the HS volleyball game, and Harper decided she wanted to dress up and pass out candy. However, there was one house she had to go to - Ms. Kelli didn't disappoint - with her full size candy bars and hugs.

*Also, the passing out candy lasted about 15 minutes. Then we snuck downstairs to watch a movie in front of the fireplace.

Football game?? Sign us up!! 😝 We attended our first Johnnie football game on Saturday. It was cool, but our cups were full of beverages to help keep us warm. We even attended the tailgate portion! The game was a blow out - in favor of the Johnnies - and it was fun to watch Charlie play - while surrouded by some of our favorite family! (Where's Harper and Grammy you ask? They opted to stay home, and warm.)

Harper came back to 3rd grade today! Eighth grade spanish students have the opportunity to walk to Riverview and teach 3rd graders once a month.  I was so excited to have her come to our classroom. She did such a great job, was extremely well prepared, and has incredible skills with kids.

East coast visits were a huge success.  Next up, the mid-west and beyond.
Bennett - go to college, or take a year off, or travel, or volunteer, or snowboard and nap. Do all the things, or some of them, or create a whole new list and start all over. But first - enjoy the rest of your junior year. Retain your 8pm bedtime, and reading on the couch, and saying "I KNOW, MOM." when I remind you it's cold out for your run - and please, for as long as you possibly can - continue to help your sister with her 8th grade math homework.

Our final visit was Georgetown University. This campus, we did not have an organized tour - we spent a few hours exploring the campus. It was breathtaking. You could feel the history and academia. The rowing team was practicing on the Potomac, the red and gold leaves were falling from the trees, the sun was shining on dewey grass, and the church bells ringing.  Pretty sure the angles were singing, too.
Georgetown was the only university to let us in the library.

Bennett has always liked hanging out with us, but now that he can drive, it's like a whole new world has opened up for us.πŸ˜‚

Next up: George Washington University
1. Campus centrally located in the heart of the city

2. More history, monuments and politicians

3. Intersecting with said politicians

4. So walkable (campus to white house in 15 minutes)

5. Running with the CC  club team - appreciated their perspective (and was faster than most πŸ˜‰)

6. The energy is palpable

7. Monica and RyanπŸ’™

For the past year or so, we've been talking college. (gasp!) Knowing that Bennett is kicking around a lot of options, and wanting to fully support his ideas - we proposed a timeline. If we would be visiting several colleges, which may or may not be out of state, we would need to begin junior year.  And, it's junior year.
First up - Boston University.
1. Beautiful campus, that felt very college-y
2. An extremely walkable city saturated with history
3. Brownstones
4. Runners, runners, EVERYWHERE
5. Incredibly kind people
6. Lots of honking
7. Crossed paths with Bennett in the alternate universe (was it a sign?)
8. Great food

Just another Saturday night for the Prose children - hanging out with some pretty fierce women.

The Alexandria CC meet is always one of my favorites for many reasons - but mainly because it's the one where we have extra in the cheer section! Bennett ran a great race, the weather was gorgeous, and Grampy came prepared to stock our pantry!
