What to do, what to do.  AP wanted to "do SOMETHING".  His version of doing something, and mine are quite different.  Honestly, I was worried that he would plan an all day (expensive) trip that included time (hours) in the car.  Quickly, I suggested Quarry State Park.

Any of my avide readers, who are SCUS alumi, or spent any time in near SCSU in the late '90s probably has their own memory of the quarries (or, perhaps, little or no memory of the quarries?)  The Mister and I both spent many sunny afternoons cliff jumping and floaty floating - with a cooler stashed in the trees.  Fortunately, for our little family, Quarry State Park has gotten a brand overhaul.

While Quarry #11 is still full of kids and loud music and coolers (gasp!), Quarry #2 is very family friends - with a sandy beach and tiny cliffs for tiny jumpers.  It was a wonderful day, and thanks to the bug spray packed by AP, we enjoyed the hiking, as well as the cool deep waters.  (and thanks to my brilliant idea, we spent $5, and we were home for naptime.)

It was a rainy kind of day, and the Ninja and the Gnome decided it was the perfect time for a Harry Potter movie marathon.  An entire day filled with snuggly blankets and popcorn and lounging on the sofa!!?? Count me in!  We organized the necessary materials for laying around all day, and the movie began.
Apparently, a movie marathon in the Prose house is approximately 22 minutes....  We then moved on to GAME DAY! You know my initial reaction was a semi-sarcastic "yay!!!" - but we had some real fun with our plethora of games.
Towards the afternoon, the sun began to peek out and we were able to take the games outdoors, to our very own gymnastics space.
Best day ever.

I just don't think it's possible for me to love this picture any more...

"Come to the reunion, G." Nae said.
"It will be fun!" Nae said.

You were right, Nae Nae.  You were right.

The Marshall County Fair does not disappoint - especially when you have a bracelet for unlimited rides
Great Grandma even jumps on a few,
and Grampy is "winning" you a giant banana
and then buys your icecream.

Twenty years ago, I graduated from WAO HS, and this weekend is the most unofficial official class reunion in history.  I debated on the likelihood of my attendance, and in the end decided I would go - with the prerequisites of sandwiching the time in Warren with some lake time.  Tomorrow, we will head (even more north) for a day at the fair and some fun with the class of 1996.  Today, we will live the lake life.

The Morningstar pool has very flexible hours of operation, with the vast majority being occupied by people less than 60 inches tall.  However, there are certain glorious moments of still waters.  And, those over 60 inches have learned to quietly sneak into the calm waters, and enjoy about 4 minutes of adult pool time.
 Shhhhh.  Don't tell them.

Final baseball weekend of the summer!  Our team ended the season with a tournament, and Grammy and Grampy came to watch the Sabres win 3 out of 4 games.  Watching these kids over the past 6 weeks has been a lot of fun (dare I say, way more fun than I thought it was going to be??).  I am impressed with the hard work and dedication of the boys and coaches, and equally impressed with the crazy parents, and the amount of sunflower seeds my husband can consume in 6 innings.  I think I like being a baseball mom - now I just need one of those buttons for my coat.

I love how my kiddos received so much love for their birthdays, and they love that they usually get gift certificates, and they have the pick of the entire store.  However, I do not love how long it takes for them to make the final selection, and this is me - practicing my patience.

Pokemon Go is the latest craze.  You download the app and then proceed to find virtual Pokemon in your neighborhood - there have been a great deal of internet arguments on this topic.  Many see this as a dangerous activity, as people are walking around mindlessly staring at their phones, and not paying attention to things like oncoming traffic.  Others see it as a wonderful marriage of physical activity and the amazing world of Pokemon.

The Prose Family finds it to be a fun family activity, and we have found several Pokes in Morningstar.

Of course, with the cautious boys leading the way, we are always aware of any oncoming traffic.
