Digger

Harper took a digger in Kelli's drive.  Now, the good thing about this very sad face, is that the kids were playing in the driveway!!!  That must mean Spring is coming sometime, soon.  Right?  Hear me, Mother Nature??

JDRF

Saturday, we had the amazing opportunity to walk with Ella and her family at the annual Walk to Cure Type 1 Diabetes.  JDRF's mission is clear:

JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners and is the only organization with the scientific resources, regulatory influence, and a working plan to better treat, prevent, and eventually cure T1D.

Ella was diagnosed with Type 1 last year, and it has been a year of learning and change for her and our favorite Prose's.  It was an incredible experience to see all the kids and families walking in support of finding a cure.

And, when you add our first trip to the American Girl Story (overwhelming and a bit creepy),

with an evening of kids playing until they crash, and adults playing until well past their bedtime,

pretty great day.  Oh, and over $2 MILLION was raised.

Pink Princess Day

"PINK PRINCESS, MOMMY!!  I WANNA BE A PRINCESS!  A PINK PRINCESS!!  WITH A PINK BOW!!  AND A PINK SHIRT!!!  AND PAINT MY TOES, MOMMY!  PAINT MY TOES!  PAINT THEM PINK, MOMMY!!  PAINT THEM PINK!!!  NO, PURPLE. NO PINK!!!  I LOVE PINK, MOMMY!!"

The above dialogue is verbatim.  Normally, I would have redirected her voice level, and reminded her that you don't scream at Mama, even if you have declared it Pink Princess Day.  But, it was so ridiculously hilarious that we could do nothing but laugh at the girl.  Yes, she loves pink.  It's her favorite color.  And, she loves glitter, and princesses.

I never believed parents when they told me about "girls being girls" and "boys being boys".  I believe it now, as today we celebrate the pretend Pink Princess Day.

The Family Bed

T-bone came to visit, finally.  It's been forever since we have seen her in suburbia.  It was a pretty lazy lyle weekend, which is perfect for this winter weather.  We watched some reality TV, and went out for tacos.

Of course there needs to be some kinda project, so T taught me how to crochet.  OK, she did her best, but trying to get my little hands to hold the yarn and hook and loop and wrap can be troublesome. Stay tuned for washcloth making 101.
