Twins!!

Grampy decided he wanted to take us to a Twins game for his birthday!  What a guy!  It was more of a present for us, with the driver and ticket purchaser, and quality time provider.  To even make it more of a special treat, Nicole was able to make the trip up north.  What about Grammy and Harps, you ask?  They decided to stay home and have some bonding time.  (Silly girls.)
We arrived a bit early, to watch batting practice and hopefully catch a pop fly.  We didn't get that lucky, but we certainly found the food and beer stand quickly.  We had great seats, in the shade, and sang loudly during the 7th inning stretch.  Pretty much one of my favorite days.

Thanks, Grampy.  Happy Birthday!! xoxo

Yes.  I am proud to be that mom who allows her daughter to go shopping in full princess attire.

Midwest is Best

It's ROAD TRIP time!!!

For some reason, I never like to blog about too many of our road trip details...  I kinda feel like it's a special secret memory that should just be kept between us.  This is not because our road trips are exclusive, or  because we do anything that we don't want other people to know about.  These trips just seem sacred to me.  The stories of what happens on the road, or in the Blue B, or at Canadian bed and breakfasts are meant to be told.  One day, we will tell our daughters about how Nannette thought we were lovers, and almost had a coronary.  (yes, we will tell our daughters - this was a secret, but not any more...)
We are having a baby!!!  Now, one may think that this would put a damper on the fun-o-meter, but not Thelma and Louise!  The only difference for this trip, was the I did much more of the driving, we had way more food packed than booze, and we also included our basket of yarn to crochet.

We traveled north through Minnesota, then around the great lakes in Cananda.  We our final destination was the paradise of Niagara Falls, and we re-entered the USA.
A night in sunny Cleveland, and one in the Mad-City, seven days (and 20 lbs??) later we were home sweet home.

Family Reunion

We talk about it every year.  We gotta get together.  It's been too long.  We miss each other.  We should have a DB's reunion.  I finally decided to take some action, and I sent out the official FB invitation in May.  We got a lot of positive responses right away, and people seemed super excited about spending the afternoon day drinking at Lord Fletchers.  I was excited to see some some old friends, and finally hang out at Andy's new job (it's only been a year...)  As the date got closer, the regrets started streaming in...

Those who showed up were some of the founders, and we had a good time, regardless of numbers.  We chatted, and pretended like we were 22 years old, and took some shots and hitched a ride to the hotel (at like 10pm, but don't tell anyone that...).

Next up - Midwest ROAD TRIP!!!!!
