Last year, around this same time, these two fools had the idea to get tickets and head to the city to see their favorite comedians/musicians/podcasters Rhett and Link.  This spring, AP and I were informed that Rhett and Link were headed back to Msp, and the ticket search began.  The things you do for your kids, that you really don't understand...
Thanks for bringing me to see New Kids on the Block, Mom and Dad.

For over a year, Grampy has been  planning the Jacob and Elizabeth Plemel Family Reunion, and today's the day!  The books have been bound, and they are quite impressive.  The photos have been organized and labeled, the nametags printed and the food prepped.  Now, just give Grampy the microphone and let the family bonding begin!

Today I will:
1. Select a countertop.

 2. Purchase some pendants.
 3.  Plant the fairy gardens.

 4.  Read poolside.
Where the Crawdads Sing is an excellent book.  Read it.

Thanks to the Prius, Doug and AP's hotel discount, RT19 might go in the record books for the most cost effective trip in history.  People always ask what we do in the car for that long.  We laugh.  We sing.  We enjoy the quiet.  We turn the radio up loud.  This marks the 9th year of our travels, and each trip we learn about other people and each other, too.  This is my person.
Next year, we think we may invite the ProJacs to join us.  RV, anyone??

It was decided that we had spent enough time in the city walking around and eating and drinking.  We needed some nature, and in true T fashion, we booked a guided jet ski tour through the inlets of the atlantic ocean.  Very Dawson's creek, and very very awesome.  (They did not let us bring our cameras so the only official documentation is the below picture of this van.)  The outdoorsy day ended with more amazing food (dare I say the best meal of the entire trip??) and an unbelievable untouched beach.

Next stop, Charleston!  We drove a few hours inland and checked into our hotel.  Our itinerary was very similar to that in Savannah, and while the two cities are known to have several of the same characteristics, I immediately liked the vibe in Charleston more.  It seemed more real (for lack of a better word) and definitely more chill.  The food continued to impress with the best barbeque I've ever had, and the craft cocktails were not too shabby, either.

RT19!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Prius is packed, and the secret envelope of fun safely stored for when we get bored.  Thelma and Louise are headed South(east), with the first stop being a quick visit in Mad-City.

The first night was spent in Louiville, and we arrived when it was dark, and apparently there was nothing photo worthy.  The following day included a(nother) 10 hour drive and we arrived in Savannah, GA, just in time to see the beautiful sunset over the water and some giant barges.  Walking around the city, we discovered the food was fantastic and the manners quite old school.

We spent the next full day in this lovely city doing what we do best - roaming around, checking out coffee shops, and architecture and history, stopping occasionally for ice cream and wine.
