Reason #6 PME was a good decision; SPRING BREAK!!  Like a real spring break with ELEVEN days off!  And, the stars aligned and the germs declined so we were able to pack up the Volvo and head Southeast to the Mad-City.  We even got to bring T and the Nut along - it's gonna be the best spring break ever.  (with the exception of Acapulco '96 - that was pretty great...)

We awoke on Easter morn, and no Bunny was captured (and the ground was covered in snow!!) - but he did leave umbrella baskets for the kids!!  This was quite creative for the Bunny - now each child has their very own umbrella, filled with goodies.  H's umbrella included some crafts, and bubbles and chalk and candy.  B's umbrella was filled with baseball gloves, a water bottle, a ball bounce-back thing and candy.  Fortunately, for Mama and Daddy there was plenty of candy and it was all the "good kind".
By late afternoon, as the snow melted, the kiddos began seeing droppings of eggs all around our yard.  I guess that Bunny had left some eggs to hunt, too!  The Morningstar gang was able to fill their buckets with more good candy - AND QUARTERS!

While the Easter holiday did not go as originally intended, AP and I did our best to accommodate.  After 48 hours of medicine, Harps was on the mend, and the Ninja and the Gnome decided they could decorate some eggs and make a trap for that pesky bunny.  There was much discussion about what to do with the bunny upon capture, but soon B convinced H it wouldn't be really nice to keep the Easter Bunny.  What about all those other kids?  So they decided, they would take a picture with him?  her?  and send it? on the way.

Friday morning of spring break!  We had so much to do today.  We had to pack for Rose, we had to paint surprise birthday gifts for Great Grandma,
we had to play with our neighborhood besties, and we had to bake!!
I AWOKE to Bennett bouncing around (who had be up for hours) in excitement for the days to come, and I WOKE Harper up at 8:55am.  She watched TV with her brother for awhile, then told me she was going back to bed.

Wait a minute.  Harper, you have been up for 25 minutes, and you are going back to bed?  While the girl had been tired getting over her sickness from last week, this was a bit odd.  I asked if she wanted to paint.  No.  (That was weird.) I asked if she wanted to bake. No. (That was really weird.)  As Harper went back to sleep -
sans her blanket and TV (The weirdest) - I called the doctor.   After it taking too long for her to call me back, I packed up Harper, Bennett ran over to Rick's and we drove to the clinic.

Harper didn't complain or whine.  She simply laid her head on my shoulder.  After the initial check, a few tests and Xrays, Harper was diagnosed with Influenza B, a sinus infection and a lung infection -
and guess who cried?  H listened to the doctor, and followed all the directions.  I got teary and cried.  I felt terrible for waiting so long to bring her to the clinic.  The doctor patted my shoulder and said, "Well, dear, if it makes you feel any better, I think Harper had a cold first, and now all this other stuff.  Had you brought in in last week, I would have told you to give her Tylenol and rest.  There is not much we can do about a cold.  Now, there is something we can do.  But, I don't know if it is a good thing that this is all just starting.  If you had travel plans for Easter - I would recommend you cancel them."

We gathered up our prescriptions
and went home to break the news to Bbones.  Have I ever told you how incredibly sweet he is?  When we got home, he tucked his sister in, gave me a hug and said, "It's ok if we can't go to Grammy's house, Mommy."  to which I got all teary again.
Then, he asked me if I to play a game.

One more day until spring break!!!  One more day!  No fever, and eating breakfast means Harper goes to school one more day! Feeling something was  a bit off, I left school early to pick up the Prose kids.  They were excited for Spring Break, and the 11 sleep in days ahead.  We got home,
and Harper put herself to bed - again...

Everyone finally went to school today, and thank goodness because class pictures came home!  These are my fave.

Harper made it through school, and then put herself to bed.

Hmmmm...  no fever, but no energy.

Sunday, March 20, 2016

Saturday, Harper's energy was up a bit.  Bennett had baseball camp in the morning,
and we had popcorn for lunch.
The afternoon was filled with TV for the girl and games for the boy and me.  Fortunately, he loves the same games as me - cribbage and
Milleborne!
