This face. This beautiful braceless face. We sometimes wondered if this day would ever come, but it did. After years, and surgeries, and smoothies and syringes. Finally, this beautiful braceless face.

Bennett Prose is running for Student Council.  He spent the last week preparing his campaign speech, poster and propaganda.  He also strategized his voter base.  My heart nearly burst when he came home to discuss the aforementioned strategy.

"Mom.  There are 6 people running.  I am the only boy.  So, want to hear what I predict will happen?"
"You know it.  What do the polls look like?"
"Here's what's up.  The boys will vote for me, because I'm the only boy.  The girls will then end up splitting the rest of the votes.  And, therefore I win.  Maybe..."

Yep, maybe.  Or maybe you are the next HRC.  Regardless, Bbones.  I am so proud of you.
B the change.  Lead the way.

I love The Facebook memories.  Often times, I think I should post more on FB simply for the daily dose of pop up memories.  Case and point - one of my top ten favorite photos of all time arrived today.
 Yes, sensi.

Did you know there is a zoo at Rose Lake?  A real legit zoo, with zebras, and turtles, and porcupines, and parrots and camel rides (for a nominal fee)

We made it through the first week of school, and busted out early on Friday!  We had a wedding to attend, and time was limited.  So, I took 45 minutes of PT, picked up Harper (thanks for being ready), grabbed B (knew he would be), finally AP (waited a few minutes for the Mister) and pulled a Superman, changing in the car.  I must say, we clean up pretty good.
Side story - Andy was prepared to change while driving, I knew he was capable of this feat.  Bennett, the ever responsible worry wart, squashed that plan vehemently.  In lieu of changing while driving, we quickly switched drivers on the exit ramp, and AP was able to safely change into wedding attire.

 Happy wedding day, Poo.

Last night, I laid in bed with my second grader.  There were no tears, until she asked me to go to work before the bus.  My sweet sweet gypsy being so self-aware, knowing that having Mama near can make her cry.  While we know it's going to be a great year, we still practiced breathing out the butterflies.  With a bit of surrender oil behind the ears, restful sleep came soon.  You have grown up so much this summer, Harper.  You are so brave.  Go get on that bus.
Last night, I laid in bed with my middle schooler.  We were both anxious, and emotional.  We both knew this would be a great year, but also felt the butterflies of the first day of school.  New school, new people, new routine.  It was a lot to think about, so we tried to think about nothing and drift off to sleep.  It took some time, but after just letting our body rest, our brain soon caught up.  Bennett Prose, you got this, kid.  I know it, you know it.

'Twas the night before school started, and all through the house, we were hoping for some sleep, maybe just an ounce.

A weekend trip to The River was on the docket for this weekend, and it had been too long!  We arrived with excitement to deliver the lemonade money, finally see our cousins, ride with Ralph, feed the goats and get some Papa and Grandpa love!  Oh, and go to a winery in the (late) morning and a brewery in the (late) afternoon.
