One District One Book is a reading initiative for the Sartell-St. Stephen School District.  A novel was selected, and each family received a copy of the text.  In addition to the book, families received a reading schedule to follow.  And, every family in the district was asked and encouraged to sit down and read - together.

Honestly, I rolled my eyes at this one, and I'm pretty sure I complained about having "one more thing" to add to our list of to-do's each day.  I am also pretty sure that I am eating my words, as snuggling up on the couch, reading "Mr. Popper's Penguins" with those little Sabres has been the highlight of my weeknights.
