Year 18 of blogging about the Ninja and the Gnome. We continue to laugh more than we cry. Enjoy as the hilarity ensues.

Every summer, the Prose children have a lemonade stand (or two). The first one always raises money for JDRF - and the collection goes directly to Team Ella and finding a cure for Juvenile Diabetes. Bennett takes this very seriously, and this year he started the planning a few days in advance (which made my life much easier, as we were not scrambling around the day off trying to get all the materials - this kid is definitely maturing with his project preparation).
The goals was set for $100 (that's a lot of lemons at 25 cents a cup), and the stand was open the next few days. Bennett worked the majority of the shifts, and in another example of the above mentioned maturity, he was able to work fairly unattended. (I mean, of course I was watching, I just didn't have to sit next to him and watch... I could easily keep an eye from the yard, or house, or maybe while I was napping...)
The stand was a huge success - with some extreme donations mailed from a friend who resides in Milaca and Grampy - the grand total was...
$200.11

While I am away - the kids get to play!!! Huge thanks to Kylee for getting Bennett to and from Science Camp for the week,
and to Ricky for taking on an additional charge.
Much gratitude to AP for managing the kiddos all alone for so long, and packing and preparing for the holiday weekend. I was sad to miss the annual Prose 4th of July party, but my favorite SILs kept me posted with pictures of all shenanigans.
I just keep thinking we are just so lucky for our village.

Nicole has had jaw issues for years - dare I say - decades? She has been preparing for her second double jaw surgery for months. Braces, and ortho appointments and blog reading and blender research, and shopping for the perfect, freshest smoothie ingredients. Finally, the time has arrived, and I left to help and hold her hand. (And fall in love with Tim Riggins...)
For the next 10 days, I will be in Madison. My duties will include swapping ice and heatpacks, administering medicine and as many liquids as possible.
I will feed the kitties and watch loads of TV. I will take pictures to highlight the daily progress, but I will not post them to the interweb. (ok - I won't post many on the interweb...)
I will only cry one time, and after we are both feeling confident in her recovery, I will leave knowing that my sister is a real life super hero. She is brave and strong and when I see her next time in real life, she will be able to eat a banana. I love you, Lucy.

One of our favorite summer getaways is the Thomas camper. It's located just down the road, and has the best annemities - including a pool, two water slides, arcade, mini golf, walking and biking paths, and even access to the river and fishing... It's pretty awesome. So, when the idea was suggested, we packed up the truck, like we were going to be gone for a month, and left Morningstar for the next 18 hours.
Once again, Two Rivers Campground didn't disappoint.
