While an outsider may have seen a bunch of awkward middle schoolers, geeking out (in a good way) over trivia questions covering all content areas. The mom in me sat up straight (on the floor of a classroom across town) and bursted with pride as Bennett answered questions, smiled and nodded at me across the room, high fived his friends and discussed in hushed whispers possibilities, furiously scribbled math equations, and shined. The kid literally shined.
And brought home a second place medal.
Cool and confident, Kid. Cool and confident.
