I'll nap with you any day, Lola.
Year 18 of blogging about the Ninja and the Gnome. We continue to laugh more than we cry. Enjoy as the hilarity ensues.

Little Peeps
We miss T and Lola. It's been way too long, and we felt like little Lo may be growing up without us. That, of course, is a problem that needed to be solved, so a visit was quickly arranged. I couldn't wait for Saturday - and no one really cared what we did, as long as we didn't have to leave the house - and we got to (finally!!!!) drink our Canadian bubbly.
We played, and did science experiments, and baked donuts, and drank our bubbly and did nothing but just be... I look at these babes, and get all sentimental. I ALWAYS think about them all grown up, and I wonder where they will go, what they will do, and who they will bring home, and the trouble they will get into, and get each other out of... I don't know any of this, but I do know that we will always be able to come together, and just be...

Valentine's First
The morning of, Andy packed up the kids with their bags of love notes, and I packed up my snowpants. Because I got to go sledding with my students! It was cold, but we were more than ready to spend some time outside.
Only one broken wrist later, I came home to a wonderful surprise...
It took 15 years (literally), but finally, Andy and I had a valentines dinner together - spaghetti and meatballs and the two little loves of our world - couldn't get much better...

Did you say 36?
Birthdays definitely evolve as one ages... I remember birthdays of past, while others are a bit hazy. My 36th birthday was pretty perfect, and began with some of the best birthday messages from T and Dad, Mom, and Colie and (of course) the obligatory Facebook messages that made me smile throughout the day. After school was spent at Bennett's winter conference, where we heard how smart, and witty and kind our dear boy is...
After meeting with Mrs. Fritz & Mrs. Hagen, we went home for ice cream cake, presents of puffy painted running gear and tacos.
I'll take it, 36. Pretty sure it's gonna be the best year ever.

First Timer
On the eve of my 36th birthday, I'm posting about a first. Had I wanted to be annoying, or ridiculous, or simply like many annoying ridiculous people I know, I would have Facebook-ed it. My status would have been:
Five miles before 5am.
But, I'm only semi-annoying so I told T, and decided to blog about it. Now, I can be happy knowing my bestie is proud of me, and probably my mom and Ms. Anderson, too.
I'll approach it one foot in front if the other. Cheers to 36.
I am going to be 36, right, mom??

One Hundred
Almost 100 days down, and what better way to celebrate than with a 100s project? We talked about several ideas, and AP and the boy came up with an eyeBALL.
Materials were scrounged up and glue gun plugged in. After the obligatory drilling and painting, the assembly began. Let the countdown begin to summer vacation!!

Fill the Freezer
Thursday night happy hour was invaded by the husbands. Boo and I were trying to plan a shopping list for an upcoming freezer stocking session, and be very conscious of our budget. Enter AP and Rick, and soon we were buying 40# of chx and 40# beef. AP thought we could "bust out 100 burritos - easy." Go big or go home, that's what they say... Why did we include them? is what I say...
By 9pm, we had prepared 10 lasagnas, 10 totdishes, 10 chx pastas, and 180 burritos. ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY!!!
The next morning, we hit up Sam's club, with our list and a strict timeline. We needed to be in and out of that store, because we had a few other stops - which include Jimmy's Pourhouse.
we split up the duties, I 'shroomed at my house and Boo prepped at her house. We combined our materials after nap, and the assembly began.By 9pm, we had prepared 10 lasagnas, 10 totdishes, 10 chx pastas, and 180 burritos. ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY!!!
