Sundays are my favorite, especially when I can meet with my favorite Tequila Mockinbirds at the new ramen joint! We discussed the book "Shadow in the Wind" which was terrible. :) I actually abandoned it, and I rarely do that. We selected June's book - see below. Fingers crossed, it will be more than a 1 star'er.

And, then came home to enjoy the sun with our kitties. 

 

 AP classes are forcing Bennett to put in a LOT of hours this semester. He has done more studying, reading, researching and citing in the last few months, than ever before.  The other evening, he shared his final presentation - struggling to keep it to 8 minutes. I'm sure it was fantastic, but truth be told, I didn't really understand anything he was saying.

Because of you, I always have an extra pair of shoes in my desk drawer, and snacks for kids who are hungry. Because of you, I know the best tool to cut homemade cinnamon rolls is string, talking to your plants really does help them grow, and a piece of bread will keep your cookies soft. Because of you, my children have strong, honorable names. Because of you, I remind myself that while it may be my 20th year of 3rd grade, it’s their first. Because of you, all I ever wanted to be was the best teacher ever, I hope I made you proud. I love you, Grandma. Rest peacefully.

 

 FINALLY!!! Finally, spring has sprung, and the never ending winter snow is melting. It was the perfect afternoon to remind Ricky that he hadn't used his fancy new grill in a really long time. Smashburgers and driveway drinks for the win!!!

Spring Break 2023 was a break, but Spring? Not so much. When we arrived, we walked through the grass to Nicole's front door. When we woke, we had to shovel our way out.  Good thing there were people to help, and almost enough shovels. 😼 Per our usual Wisco experience, there was a mix of old activities (fantastic brunches) and new ("CHICAGO").
