Continuing with the theme of squeezing all the fun out of the remaining moments of summer, it was time for another road trip to Wisco - this time to see Colie!  Grammy and Grampy offered to pick us up on the way, and I was excited to be a passenger in the backseat - but I was not going to sit in the middle.  The weekend included the usual activities of happy hour at the Merchant, breakfast at Marigolds, cheese curds wherever we could get them, a trip to the market and of course, the capital.  But, because Dad was with, we threw in a landscaping project or two.

I love when we are all together.

Duncan Family Reunion at the River is a mandatory event - but we don't mind because we get to see our cousins, and we don't get to hang out with these smiling faces often enough!

Thursday is our night for guitar lesson, and when our beloved guitar teacher asked if we wanted to go to a concert in lieu of lessons - we knew we could not pass it up.  We purchased tickets to the School of Rock show at the Paramount theater, and convinced our friends to join in on the fun.  School of Rock is a summer rock and roll camp for kids ages 11-18.  Young musicians attend a 2 week camp, and collimation is a live rock and roll performance.  It was awesome to get dressed up, and watch these little rockstars (and tell the kids stories of our wedding on that very stage).

Bennett is pretty sure he will attend the School of Rock and I can't wait to see him jamming out - he may need to start growing his hair out...

Eleven Years Later... (insert heart emoji)

Friday, August 5, 2016

The summer of 2016 is quickly coming to a close, and we still have a few things to check off our summer "to do" list.  The top priority is planning our annual weekend at the Tiny House.  Bennett prepared the list of what we would need to bring.  This list included: smores, hot dogs, muffins, drinks and Ralph (the big blue mat).
We were ready and packed up the truck to head east to western Wisconsin.

On the way, The Boy developed another list of what he wanted to do at the Tiny House - this list included: build a fire
Go fishing

Go tubing
Nap on the hammock

Surf on Ralph
Take an evening cruise
Play with our best friends

Zipline

The pictures tell the story better than I ever could - as everything was checked off the list.  We left a few days later, exhausted and full of another year of tiny memories.  It was determined that this was the best weekend of the summer - so far.
