All right - get ready for the "last one" posts that will likely be the main idea of the blog this year. (Harps, your time will come too soon.) Bennett finished his last 300 Mile Club summer run today - crushing his goal and hitting 300 miles way before the deadline. He will now be the ONLY athlete who's name will be on their shirt who accomplished this goal every single year since 6th grade!

He has been working really hard speed training and endurance training - getting ready to shave some time of his old PR and run Varsity this cross country season. We are so proud of his dedication and quiet determination. And, of course had the TP ribbon ready.

Yesterday, marked ½ way of the chemo part of treatment, and it feels like a good time for an update. Early July, we spent some time at Mayo, and received only good news from all the scans and procedures. Treatment is working, cells are staying put and shrinking. We are continuing with confidence in the plan, and the outstanding medical team.
Number 6 chemo more importantly marks a time for gratitude. The outpouring of support is breathtaking. Thank you for all the thoughtful cards, messages, check-ins, delicious meals, placements at the top of prayer lists, good vibes and continuously elevating our family with positive energy. This unexpected plot twist has only highlighted all the good in our community, and has made it possible for there to be more good days than bad. Thank you is not adequate, but thank you. It matters, it's working.

Andy has decided to add rollerblading to his exercise routine. Apparently, it's just like riding a bike.

I felt quite good after #5, and we decided to take a quick trip up to Rose. The weather was perfect, and the company even better. We had the best time resting and floating and putting H's newly acquired boat license to work.  (Yes, I wore a hat, it just got so hot sometimes.) Thanks, Mom and Dad for having us home.

Chemo #5. We are sticking with the plan of extra magnesium, hydration fluids and anti-allergic reaction meds (ie: loads of Benadryl). This concoction makes me quite sleepy during infusion days, but also really helps the muscle aches and swelling/twitching.

Spent some time at Mayo Clinic this week, getting various tests, blood work, minor surgery and scans done. Thankfully, the Mayo system is a well oiled machine - with everyone being so helpful and patient and on time. The appointments all went very well - and the results from each even better. Everything came back clear and negative and the current treatment plan is working.

AP has been a rock - a solid, calm, funny, quiet and chatty rock. He holds my hand and understands and loves me so hard. I can't imagine doing this without him. 🩷
