Sixth grade math is no joke.  There are tears of frustration, but it's the "a-HA!" moment that's my fave.

 

My lesson plans always include picture books.  I use them to teach all the things.  My first week includes many of my favorites, but these two titles old a special place in my heart. I just love Mary and Doug!

 

First day of Middle and High School included lots of big emotions.  We were nervous, and excited, and anxious, and nervous, and excited, and anxious.  The buildings were big, and the crowds expansive.  There were lockers to open and classrooms to find.  Not to mention, trying to navigate the various lunch lines!

Harper had a difficult day one. She didn't eat lunch, find a good bathroom to use, or drink any water.  However, after a little pep talk and some advice from her big brother - all was well.  And, day 2 was incredibly better. 

 

Room 450.  Year 20.  Twenty-four 3rd graders. 

 

What did you do this weekend?  We had a XC meet in the wind and rain.

Then, played some cribbage in the driveway.

And, then there was this minor procedure.... Never a dull moment in Morningstar.

 

Here's my middle schooler.  Yep, she's headed up the hill, and I'm so proud of her bravery and locker unlocking!
