* Last Day of 8th Grade *
* Last day of 11th Grade *
We crushed it this year - the challenges, the successes, the friends, the events. Ready for the summer routine - and those who know us well - know there is a definite routine.

 Bring it on Summer 2024.

Ice mitts - it's a real thing. My chemotherapy regime has a couple different drugs, one being a drug that can cause neuropathy (tingling in the fingers and toes).  Ice gloves and socks have been known to help the decrease of those reactions - so the mitts and socks are on for 90 minutes of the infusion. Cold, but cute!
I knew today was going to be a good one, when Nurse Nicole (with no "h"), rolled in with her red curly hair and "let's do this" attitude. She definitely got the 5⭐ review.

The orange kitty loves to join me finding the sun. She also benefits from these quiet, energy soaking minutes of just being.

Flofirinox (5FU)
First timer here. Thank God, for Alex. He was my RN for this first chemotherapy infusion day. He is a gift of a human - and I cannot thank him enough for his support, knowledge, patience and witty banter. Being new to this whole treatment business, no one really knew how my body would react - yet that didn't stop my body. We had twitching, and swelling, tingling and more swelling and the twitching, then the water turned to slime and my uncertainty rose. Alex handled it with a tidal wave of calm. He handled it with ease and confidence. He educated, and told stories, and laughed and just sat with us until it was time to go home. Then, he gave me flowers, in a surgical glove vase, and told me he knew I could do it.

Thanks, Alex. Because of you, now I know I can do it, too.

We were supposed to move to Morningstar for so many reasons - not knowing that our our neighbors would quickly be top of the list. For years, Boo and I have created a tradition of Mother's Day afternoon drive way visiting with a cocktail and varying number of kids in attendance. This year was no different - with the exception of it was too hot for the driveway, so we had to take it out back. Thank you, Boo Boo, for helping me raise these kids in such a loving little bubble. Our village is strong.

This tree and these lights on the same day?!?! The universe is showing off her love of the color purple, and it couldn't come at a more perfect time. Thank you for the energy, Mother Nature. We are taking it all in.

 Diagnosis Day
Short story: I felt crummy. I had a procedure. I woke up with a port.

Long story: I will tell another time.
